The full-size SUV Chevrolet Tahoe of the 2nd incarnation entered the market in 2000 - if externally and internally the car has not changed too much compared to its predecessor, then in technical terms it has undergone significant improvements. In 2004, the "American" underwent a small update, which mainly affected the motor palette, and after that it was mass-produced until 2006.
The second “release” of the Chevrolet Tahoe is a full-size SUV with a five-door body and five- or eight-seat interiors.
The car has impressive external dimensions: 5052 mm in length, 1885 mm in height and 2004 mm in width. The gap between the wheelsets is 2946 mm, and the ground clearance is 200 mm.
"Tahoe" of the second generation was equipped with two gasoline engines - V-shaped eight-cylinder "aspirated" with a volume of 4.8-5.3 liters with a multi-point fuel supply and a 16-valve timing, the performance of which is 275-295 horsepower and 393-449 Nm of torque.
Together with the motors, an uncontested 4-speed "automatic" was installed, but the drive was offered as a rear one, and a plug-in full one with a lowering stage.
The "second" Chevrolet Tahoe is based on the "GMT800" platform with a powerful body frame structure. The chassis on the car is represented by an independent torsion system on the front axle and a dependent architecture with a continuous axle at the rear.
On all versions of the SUV, a steering complex with a hydraulic power steering and a brake package are used, which includes disc mechanisms for each of the wheels (with front ventilation) and ABS.
"Tahoe" of the second incarnation has a lot of positive aspects, including reliable design, excellent level of comfort and safety, solid appearance, roomy interior, decent equipment, ease of operation, powerful engines and good off-road capabilities.
But the car is not without its drawbacks - high fuel consumption, low illumination from head optics, high transport tax, dimensions inconvenient for the city and expensive maintenance.
