Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet is a rear- or all-wheel drive premium business-class convertible with a soft fabric top and a four-seater interior layout, which combines: elegant design, high level of comfort and safety and the most modern technical solutions ...

The public premiere of a two-door of the third incarnation (in the second and third generations of the E-class there were no two-doors) with the in-plant marking “A238”, built on the basis of the fifth generation “Yeshka”, took place in March 2017 at the stands of the International Motor Show in Geneva.

The car followed the path of its "brothers" in the "E-family", having received an elegant design, luxurious interior, powerful and economical engines and a wide range of progressive equipment.

The E-class convertible looks beautiful, graceful and balanced, with or without a soft top.

An energetic front end, a stately and dynamic silhouette, a firmly folded stern - there are no contradictory decisions in the exterior of the two-door, and it itself will definitely not go unnoticed in the city traffic.

The overall length of the "third" E-Class Cabriolet from Mercedes-Benz extends to 4826 mm, its width is 1860 mm, and its height fits into 1428 mm. Between the pairs of wheels, the "German" has a 2873 mm base.

Inside, the convertible repeats the coupe of the same name in everything (up to the ventilation deflectors in the form of turbine wheels) - a beautiful and "thoroughbred" design, thought out to the smallest detail ergonomics, premium finishing materials and the highest level of performance.

The "apartments" of the car have a four-seater layout: in front there are relief armchairs with wide adjustment intervals, and in the back there is a sofa configured for two passengers.

The trunk of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet is small: with the roof up, its volume is 385 liters, and with the top folded down - 310 liters. The rear seat backs are transformable, which allows you to transport oversized items.

The convertible is equipped with a multi-layer roof, the folding / unfolding process of which is fully automated and takes only 20 seconds (while it can be carried out at speeds up to 47 km / h).

In the Russian vastness, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet of the 3rd incarnation is offered with a 2.0-liter gasoline "four", equipped with a turbocharger, direct fuel supply technology, a 16-valve timing belt and phase shifters at the outlet and inlet, which is declared in two variants of "pumping ":

  • on version E 200 4Matic it produces 184 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 300 Nm of potential potential at 1300-4000 rpm;
  • but for modifications E 300 - 245 hp at 5500 rpm and 370 Nm of peak thrust at 1200-4000 rpm.

Both motors are mated with a 9-band "automatic", but the "junior" - with an all-wheel drive transmission, and the "senior" - with the driving wheels of the rear axle.

From the start to 100 km / h the two-door accelerates after 6.6-8.3 seconds, gains maximum 230-250 km / h, and “destroys” 6.8-7.7 liters of fuel in the combined cycle for every “hundred” of run.

From a technical point of view, the Mercedes-Benz E-class convertible repeats its "brothers" in the family - it is based on the MRA "bogie" with double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, electric power steering with variable characteristics and ventilated brake discs on each of the wheels ...

The car can be equipped with conventional springs and passive or adaptive dampers, and as an option, it relies on pneumatic struts.

On the territory of Russia, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet of 2017-2018 is sold at a price of 4,300,000 rubles - this is how much they ask for the E 300 Avantgarde version. But the all-wheel drive version "E 200 4Matic Sport" can not be bought cheaper than 4,550,000 rubles.

As for the standard and additional equipment, in this regard, the car echoes the sedan in almost everything.
