The world premiere of the second generation of the hatchback "308" (the model received the index "T9") took place in the fall of 2013 (in Frankfurt), but this five-door only reached Russia in 2014: it first appeared to the local public at the very end of summer - at the Moscow International Motor Show , he immediately went to the dealerships (to please his first owners on October 16).

At the beginning of June 2017, the French showed the restyled five-door to the world community, but there were no radical changes to it.

During the modernization, the car was "refreshed" externally due to the redesigned front end, acquired an improved multimedia system, received an updated range of power plants and replenished its functionality with new electronic technologies that were not available before.

In comparison with its predecessor, the appearance of the second generation Peugeot 308 did not just "step forward", but "jumped from a run" - immediately finding itself a few steps higher and offering customers an aerodynamic and stylish exterior that instantly attracts attention.

Balanced contours, verified proportions and dynamism - these are the main differences between the "second" Peugeot 308 from the "first". With such an appearance, you can be called a "competitor of Golf" absolutely not being afraid of anything, so it remains to state: here the French have worked hard for a solid five.

In addition, the five-door is provided with an image performance called "GT Line", the distinctive features of which are: full LED headlights, dynamic direction indicators, two exhaust pipes, door sills and wheel rims of the original design.

The body length of the second generation of the hatchback is 4253 mm, the width is 1804 mm, and the height is limited to 1472 mm. The length of the wheelbase of the novelty is 2620 mm. The track of the front and rear wheels is 1559 and 1553 mm, respectively. The ground clearance is 152 mm.

Separately, it is worth noting the impressive coefficient of frontal aerodynamic resistance - 0.28 Cx.

When loaded, the five-door weighs from 1085 to 1255 kg (depending on the modification).

The interior of the second generation Peugeot 308 is a real "automotive avant-garde": it combines bizarre, but at the same time confident sculptural forms, and dashingly broken lines, which makes the inside of the car looks, albeit progressive, but of sufficient quality and monolithic.

A flattened steering wheel with a "puffy" relief, over which a spectacular dashboard with two arrow dials and a color display of a board computer hangs, an extremely laconic center console crowned with a 7-inch multimedia system screen and several buttons for auxiliary functions - you will not find such a salon in any "Representatives of the C-class".

In addition to this, the hatchback pleases with excellent quality materials and workmanship.

In the GT Line, the Frenchman boasts red stitching on the steering wheel, seats and dashboard - which exalts even more sportiness in its interior.

The front seats of the "308" boast an ergonomic profile with pronounced sidewalls, dense filling, a wide range of adjustments and other "benefits of civilization." On the second row there is a comfortable sofa with ergonomic shapes, but there is definitely no excess free space here.

The trunk of the “second” Peugeot 308 is quite roomy - it “absorbs” 420 liters (up to the luggage compartment shelf) in the “base” and up to 1228 liters with the rear seats folded down (however, a flat area is not formed in this case). In the niche under the raised floor there is a spare wheel and the necessary tools.

In the Russian market, the Peugeot 308 of the second incarnation is offered with two power plants to choose from, which are mated with a 6-speed "automatic" and drive wheels of the front axle:

  • The "younger" version is a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder unit with a 16-valve timing, direct fuel injection, turbocharging and variable valve timing, which generates 135 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 221 Nm of torque at 1400 rpm ...
Such a car exchanges the second "hundred" in 9.1 seconds, accelerates to a maximum of 205 km / h, and "digests" about 6.5 liters of fuel for every 100 km in combined conditions.
  • "Top" modifications have the same engine under the hood, but generating 150 hp. at 6000 rpm and 240 Nm peak potential at 1400 rpm.
A hatchback with a similar "heart" accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in 8.5 seconds, its "maximum speed" fits into 211 km / h, and the fuel "appetite" does not exceed 6.2 liters in mixed mode.

At the heart of the second generation Peugeot 308 is the modular platform EMP2 (which auto experts immediately dubbed "the most technologically advanced in the class"). The car demonstrates an independent front suspension based on MacPherson struts and a semi-independent rear system with a torsion beam ("in a circle" - with transverse stabilizers).

The wheels of the front axle of the hatchback are equipped with ventilated disc brakes with discs with a diameter of 294 mm. The rear wheels are equipped with simple disc brakes with discs with a diameter of 302 mm and integrated "drums" of the mechanical parking brake.

The rack and pinion steering mechanism of the five-door is equipped with an electro-hydraulic booster.

In the Russian market, the Peugeot 308 2017-2018 is provided in three trim levels - "Active", "Allure" and "GT-Line".

  • The minimum asking for a car is 1,399,000 rubles, for which you get: four airbags, a dual-zone "climate", 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, a multimedia system, ABS, EBD, ESC, BA, heated front seats, a radio with six speakers, power and heated exterior mirrors, fog lights and other equipment.

  • The "top" version will cost from 1 609 000 rubles, and among its privileges are: six airbags, keyless access to the salon and engine start, light and rain sensors, 17-inch "rollers", fully LED optics, sports front seats and other "goodies".
