In May 2015, at the presentation of the modernized Volkswagen Polo sedan, the Germans shared their plans to bring to the market a "heated" modification of the car with the "GT" prefix, featuring a modified design and a turbo engine in the engine compartment. And, in spite of the crisis, these plans are destined to come true - in the fall of 2016, sales of the "sported" three-volume car will start in Russia.

Externally, the Volkswagen Polo GT differs from the standard sedan in a more aggressive look - it is distinguished by sports bumpers, a fine-mesh radiator grille, a double-barrel exhaust system, 16-inch alloy wheels and a small spoiler on the trunk lid.

In terms of dimensions, the GT-solution of the four-door will definitely not differ much from the "civilian brother", which is 4390 mm long, 1699 mm wide and 1467 mm high with a 2553 mm wheelbase.

Inside, the Volkswagen Polo GT meets riders with a "chubby" three-spoke steering wheel with leather braiding, original seat upholstery and aluminum pedals and sills with "GT" logos, but generally repeats the decoration of the regular model.

But the cargo-and-passenger capabilities of the German "state employee" have not undergone any changes - the car can accommodate up to five people, including the driver, and the volume of its cargo compartment is 460 liters.

Specifications. Under the hood of the "heated" modification of the Volkswagen Polo, a 1.4-liter TSI petrol "four" is "registered", equipped with direct fuel injection technology, turbocharging and a 16-valve timing, in the bins of which there are 125 "mares" at 5000 rpm and 200 Nm of maximum moment at 1400-4000 rpm.
By default, the engine is equipped with a 6-speed "manual" gearbox and front-wheel drive transmission, and as an option it can be equipped with a 7-speed "robot" DSG.

The "Polo" in the GT version is noticeably more capable of its "civilian counterpart": regardless of the version, the car copes with the starting spurt to the first "hundred" in 9 seconds, and its maximum capabilities do not exceed 198 km / h. In mixed driving mode, the four-door digests 5.7 liters of gasoline for every 100 kilometers.

Technically, the Volkswagen Polo GT does not differ from the standard model. The "heated" sedan rests on a front-wheel drive "bogie" PQ25 with an independent front suspension of the MacPherson type and a semi-independent rear beam, in the "state" it has an electric power steering and disc brakes on all wheels (front "pancakes" with ventilation) with ABS, EBD and other gadgets.

Options and prices. In the Russian market, prices for the GT-version of the Volkswagen Polo sedan with a manual transmission in 2016 will start at 819,900 rubles, but for an "automatic" car, you will have to pay at least 889,900 rubles.
In the basic configuration, the three-volume offers two front airbags, ABS with EBD, one-zone "climate", heated front seats, power windows for all doors, 16-inch wheel disks, leather steering wheel and gearshift lever, electric drive and heated side mirrors, an audio system with four speakers, AUX, USB and Bluetooth and other equipment.
